About Us
'Enriching the school life of the children at St Matthew's'
Friends of St Matthew’s Primary School (FoSMPS)
Our Vision
We work hand-in-hand with parents, carers, and staff to raise vital funds that directly enhance our school community. By funding modern learning tools, upgraded equipment, and exciting extracurricular activities, we ensure our children have access to enriching experiences that spark joy and curiosity during their time at St Matthew’s. Beyond fundraising, we are passionate about building connections within our school community. We host social events that bring children, families, and staff together, strengthening the warm and inclusive community we all share.
What We Focus On (and What We Don't)
The scope of our role is strictly to support and enhance school life, leaving educational and operational decisions to the school’s leadership team. is strictly to support and enhance school life, leaving educational and operational decisions to the school’s leadership team. FoSMPS does not manage school operations, influence the curriculum, or act as school governors.
How We Are Organised
If you have a child at St Matthew’s, you are automatically a valued member of FoSMPS.
To meet our charity regulations, our association is guided by a dedicated team of elected trustees and committee members, all of whom are unpaid parent volunteers. We collaborate closely with the school to plan projects, but we rely entirely on the collective energy, skills, and kindness of our parent community to bring these events to life. Whether you can give an hour of your time or help lead a project, we rely on your generous support to make fundraising possible.
